Maid café : let's talk about maid cafe

Okay, while i was thinking about what to write next somehow maid cafe keeps popping in my head. So i decided to write about it, i mean why not ? this blog after all talks about otaku culture right. And beside maid cafe is usually associated with otaku, when we think about maid cafe it's usually leads to moe which leads us to otaku and finally leads us to akihabara AKA otaku heaven. and c'mon who in their right mind doesn't like MAID cafe, that's right MAID there is the keyword. Anyway enough of my rambling, let's get down to the business.

"Maid cafés (メイド喫茶 / メイドカフェ Meido kissa / Meido kafe) are a subcategory of cosplay restaurants found predominantly in Japan. In these cafés, waitresses dressed in maid costumes act as servants, and treat customers as masters (and mistresses) in a private home, rather than as café patrons. The first permanent maid café, Cure Maid Café, was established in Akihabara, Tokyo, Japan, in March 2001"

That paragraph up there is the definition of maid cafe, that I'm too lazy to write. So basically maid cafe is a place where you can find maid just like in anime that will serve you just like their masters/mistresses with a fee of course and restrictions, i mean obviously the maid in maid cafe could not and would not serve "ALL" your needs, if you know what i mean is. Now how about the costume, well the costume in maid cafe usually a stereotypical maid outfit in anime or manga, just like this picture below.

 

Although sometimes the costume also include a pair of animal ears for example nekomimi aka cat ears.

The services and ritual in maid cafe usually starts with maids greet customers with "Welcome home, Master (Mistress)" (お帰りなさいませ、ご主人様！ Okaerinasaimase, goshujinsama) and offer them wipe towels and menus. also the maids will also kneel by the table to stir cream and sugar into a customer's coffee, and some cafes even offer spoon-feeding services to customers.also additionally, maid cafes offer grooming services, such as ear cleanings and leg, arm, and back massages (with clothes on) obviously, for an additional fee. Customers can also sometimes pay to play card or video games and take a picture with maids.

There many type of maid in maid cafe for example: tsundere maid,imouto (little sister) maid,yandere maid even trap aka drag maid. here is the video of danny choo in a maid cafe with example of tsundere and imouto maid.                                  

Now to all of you that have reach this far in my not so great article, must be interested in maid cafe right ? and you probably thinking "man, i wish i live in japan so that i could go to maid cafe everyday only to be given cold shoulders by a tsundere maid". well no worries folks because maid cafe also exist not just in japan but also in several other countries like america. for example maid cafe NY which located in well...new york and also my cup of tea-maid cafe which located in washington DC.
